Bengaluru. Solidarity, empowerment, and the spirit of change were on full display today as hundreds of bikers rode through the city to champion one powerful cause — breast cancer awareness. The ‘Pink on Wheels’ Bike Rally, organized by Aster CMI Hospital, witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 200 superbike riders, all united to amplify the message of early screening, timely diagnosis, and community support reflecting the hospital’s continued commitment to women’s health.
The rally began and concluded at Aster CMI Hospital, covering key routes including Hebbal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur, and Kogilu Signal. Riders dressed in pink and carried awareness placards, turning Bengaluru’s streets into a moving campaign of hope, strength, and empowerment.
“This rally is more than a visual statement as it represents the power of collective action,” said Dr. Poovamma C U, Lead & HOD – Breast Oncology & Oncoplasty, Aster CMI Hospital. “Early detection remains our most effective tool against breast cancer, and initiatives like this motivate people to get screened and spread awareness.”
Adding to this, every ride, every conversation today brings us closer to saving more lives,” said Dr. Darshan Patil, Consultant – Surgical Oncology, Aster CMI Hospital. “Through initiatives like Pink on Wheels, we want women to feel empowered to prioritize their health and make screening a regular part of their lives
Breast cancer continues to be one of the most common cancers among Indian women, accounting for nearly one in every four cancer cases. Studies reveal that half of all cases are diagnosed at advanced stages, primarily due to low awareness and limited access to early screening with factors that significantly impact survival rates.
The ‘Pink on Wheels’ Bike Rally embodies Aster CMI Hospital’s broader vision of community-driven healthcare, encouraging individuals to prioritize regular health checks and support those impacted by cancer. Through awareness drives, educational programs, and accessible screening services, Aster CMI continues its mission to promote early detection and better outcomes for women across all walks of life.
